Fugro
Advancing AUVs
Fugro's reputation is founded on world-class geoscience combining experience, expertise and state-of-the-art technology to serve our clients. State of the offshore survey art is currently exemplified by Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) -- the ultimate choice of instrument platform for deep-sea survey operations. Fugro operates one of the world's largest and most flexible commercial AUV survey fleet. Fugro's 'Echo Surveyor' and 'Echo Mapper' range of AUV's provide engineering quality data for deep sea field developments and seabed mapping. The REMUS AUV system is ideal for shallow, remote applications. Fugro combines AUV data acquisition with proven onboard processing and reporting techniques from skilled and experienced geoscientists Fugro's fleet of AUV's combines state-of-the-art technology with flexibility and global reach. Fugro owns and operates 'Echo Surveyor ' and 'Echo Mapper' class of deep water survey AUV's. Two 'Echo Surveyor' AUV's are Kongsberg Maritime manufactured Hugin 3000 vehicles. The third 'Echo Surveyor' is a Hugin 1000. The two 'Echo Mapper' AUVs are Bluefin 21 developed by Bluefin Robotics Corporation. The five 'Echo' class AUV's are depth rated to 3000 m and available for operations worldwide, either from Fugro's fleet of dedicated survey vessels or 3rd party chartered ships. The smaller sized 'Echo Mapper' is also fully air-transportable. For shallow water operations, down to 100 meters water depth, Fugro provides the two portable, Hydroid, REMUS (Remote Environmental Monitoring Units). Based in the U.S., REMUS is easily shipped to survey destinations around the world.
Instrumentation and Sensors
The 'Echo Surveyor' and 'Echo Mapper' fleet of AUV's can be equipped with a wide range of payload sensors depending on the application and user needs. For deep water survey the standard is: · 200 kHz Multibeam echosounder · Full Spectrum Chirp seafloor mapping system comprising sidescan sonar and sub-bottom profiler. · Conductivity, Temperature, Depth system · Tightly coupled integrated navigation system REMUS collects a variety of data, including single beam bathymetry, 600 kHz sidescan sonar, optional sub-bottom profiler, Acoustic Doppler Current Profiling (ADCP), water conductivity (salinity) and temperature.
