Wesmar Debuts New Sonar
L-3 Klein Debuts 3000H Side Scan Sonar
L-3 Klein released its latest digital Side Scan Sonar, the System 3000H. In response to customer and market demand, the 3000H system combines the capabilities of L-3 Klein's System 3000 Side Scan Sonar, with the capabilities of L-3 Klein's Model 3900 Search & Recovery System. The system brings to market the field proven capabilities of the System 3000 which allows interfaces for use with a magnetometer, pressure sensor and acoustic positioning with the added capability of higher resolution imaging with selectable frequencies of 445 kHz and 900kHz. With the 455 kHz capability wide area searches can be performed to identify objects of interest. By switching over to the 900 kHz frequency within a 50 to 60 m range objects of interest can be identified and classified with images that are considered the highest quality.

Wesmar introduced the EV850 series, a new, all digital navigation and security sonar. This searchlight sonar features: Active electronic gyro controlled stabilization capable of correcting for 34 degrees of movement per second; 110 kHz frequency, proven effective in numerous tests for both navigation and underwater intruder detection; Large array transducers that have up to 30 percent more detection elements than conventional sonar with greater transmit power and receiving sensitivity; and a unique 'power booster' system that supplies high voltage to the transmitter, ensuring a strong transmit pulse for maximum transfer of acoustic energy.

duction less than a year ago. They have been used by commercial companies, government organizations, research institutes and universities to measure discharge in rivers, estuaries, natural streams and constructed channels in four continents. The Institute of Geography and Institute of Marine Resources and Environment of Vietnam purchased two FlowQuest 600 acoustic current profilers with discharge measurement function, to be used for measurement of water discharge for surveys in rivers and seas in Vietnam. With very fast ping rate, automatically adjusted cell size, no ambiguity error and solid bottom tracking capability, the Discharge Measurement function in FlowQuest profilers is designed to accurately measure both normal and unsteady (or tidally affected) flow.
