Hallin Named "Business of the Year"
Hallin Marine has been named as the U.K.'s Business of the Year and been presented with a "Business Oscar." Hallin picked up the honor at the prestigious National Business Awards, sponsored by Orange, at a glittering ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London. The company's stunning performance was recognized and Hallin was chosen as the "outstanding organization that has best demonstrated exceptional financial returns, strong growth and innovation strategies, plus market leadership in its sector." The Badenoch & Clark Business of the Year Award was presented to Hallin director John Quinn by Prince Edward, the Earl of Wessex, at the ceremony attended by Lord Mandelson, the Secretary of State for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform. Hallin was chosen as the winners of the award that is open to any company within the UK, whether public or private, regardless of size or industry. The awards are described by Prime Minister Gordon Brown as the 'Business Oscars,' and attract entries from a wide variety of successful organizations.
Hallin Marine won a $4.8m contract for the provision of an anchor handling support vessel. Hallin has already mobilized the dynamically positioned class two (DP2) AHSV Seacor Penrith to support the offshore 2008 drilling campaign for a major drilling contractor. The vessel will carry out anchor handling, towing and supply services in various offshore oil and gas fields. The technically advanced, 67 m Seacor Penrith has on-board accommodation for 52 personnel and is fitted with a 20 tonne SWL active heave compensated subsea crane. The charter has already commenced and will run through to December 31, 2008, with potential options to extend into 2009.
