Aside from the traditional exhibit hall booth, what opportunities do companies have to market themselves? RH: Exhibitors can conduct workshops on the show floor or live demonstrations at our in-water demos. Advertise in our show directory, on our show website or in the official publication of the OceanTech Expo, Marine Technology Reporter magazine. Exhibitors can sponsor receptions and other events and items at the event to increase their presence to attendees as well. OTE returns to Providence ... why was this city chosen as OTE's home? RH: When you look at North America and the marine technology and ocean science industry, Providence is central to a large cluster of businesses, R&D and academic institutions. There is a "built-in" audience and resource for the show to keep current to technology advances and development. How is the "Industry Outlook Session" program shaping up?
RH: We have expanded the Industry Outlook Sessions this year due to its overwhelming reception last year. We have more of everything, and a diverse roster of professionals from as far as Japan. Check out the website www.oceantechexpo.com for more. How has industry response been to OTE? RH: Industry response has been incredible, as you will see in coming weeks as we start posting the names we have speaking in our Industry Outlook Sessions in 2008. What is being done to attract high quality, quantity attendance this year? RH: We are advertising in MTR, and also with our new media supporter for 2008, Hydro International, as well as conducting e-mail updates through the MTR (SeaDiscovery.com) and on the Hydro website. We are also working with our supporting organizations MOTN, SUT and SNAME to ensure that their members are informed and involved. In addition, we will start an aggressive direct-mail campaign shortly to promote registration.
