"RESON is back to business as normal" were the words of a proud and relieved Allan J. Vestergaard, CEO and President of RESON A/S, at the company's User's Conference in London. While RESON -- pioneer and market leader in multibeam and sonar technology -- has kept sales and revenues climbing over the past five years, it has seen its profitability disappear as it simultaneously took on three major projects -- two for the Swedish Navy and one for IFREMER -- while at the same time completely revamping its product line with the evolution towards the new SeaBat 7k technology. "These four projects combined really made RESON struggle," Vestergaard said. "Our recent story is really a very simple story; all of our cash flow was pumped into these four projects."

Neither RESON or Vestergaard are apt to shrink from a challenge, proved at its recent User's Meeting, where clients of the company heaped both praise and criticism of the company and its products; both critical elements in helping the company to shake its financial struggles and forge a profitable path ahead. Vestergaard, who was brought in two years ago to lead RESON ahead, said, "RESON is 30 years old, and is truly the father of multibeam products. Today, we stress the 'power of price performance,' meaning that if you buy one of our products, you get outstanding technological products with a great price."
