Transocean Signs Contract for GSF Explorer
Transocean was awarded of a 689-day contract by a consortium headed by Marathon International Petroleum Indonesia Ltd. for the ultra-deepwater drillship GSF Explorer to drill a series of exploration wells in a deepwater province in Indonesia. The 689-day contract is expected to commence in the 4Q of 2009 following the completion of existing contractual commitments in Angola and mobilization to the Makassar Strait, a deepwater province receiving renewed interest as a result of recent leasing activity. The estimated contract revenues which could be generated over the 689-day contract period are approximately $351m.
Cameron Wins $190m PDVSA Contract
Cameron won a contract worth more than $190m to provide subsea equipment and services to Petroleos De Venezuela S. A. (PDVSA), the Venezuelan national oil company. Under the contract, which consists of three packages, Cameron will provide 10 subsea Christmas trees, wellheads, associated production control systems, in-field jumpers and flowline connection systems, along with engineering and project management services, for PDVSA's Dragón and Patao natural gas development projects. Initial equipment delivery and installation is slated to begin in the first quarter of 2008, with additional deliveries of subsea trees and associated equipment to continue through 2009. These two fields are part of the development plan for PDVSA's Mariscal Sucre Project, which involves the exploitation of four large natural gas fields offshore Venezuela.
