Hydroid is a manufacturer and supplier of Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUV) for military and commercial markets worldwide. The company was established in 2001 to manufacture, support and further develop the REMUS Autonomous Vehicle Technology, originally developed and licensed through an exclusive license with the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. Hydroid's 2007 sales are projected to approximate 20 MUSD with high profitability and is projecting strong revenue growth in the coming years. Hydroid is headquartered in Pocasset, Mass. The acquisition is subject to governmental approvals and is expected to close during the first quarter of 2008.

Teledyne RD Instruments announced that Marc Sherman has been appointed Teledyne RDI's new Navigation Business Unit Sales Manager. Sherman holds an E.E. degree from Ohio State University and has 20 years of technical sales and marketing experience, most recently in the field of precision molded micro optics. Sherman Having started his career in the field of sound and vibration, he has performed diagnostic testing aboard a variety of marine vessels for both the commercial and DOD markets. After six years of managing Teledyne RD Instruments' marketing activities via her marketing agency, MLN Marketing, Margo Newcombe has officially joined Teledyne RDI as the company's Marketing Communications Manager. Margo has a B.S. in Business Newcombe Administration and Communications and more than 17 years of sales and marketing experience within the offshore and oceanographic industries. Newcombe is assisted in the marketing department by Julie Harris, Marketing Administrator, who was brought over from a sister company, MGD Technologies to assist with the increasing marketing activities generated by the company's expansive growth. Daniel Doherty has been proDoherty moted to Customer Service Manager. Doherty has been serving in this role in an interim capacity since Jim Rogers was promoted from Customer Service Manager to Water Resources Business Unit Leader.
Teledyne RDI Event Sets Record On November 5-7, 2007 Teledyne RD Instruments hosted its 6th ADCPs in Action Users' Conference in San Diego. More than 170 Teledyne RDI Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) and Doppler Velocity Log (DVL) users converged on Mission Bay to share information and learn from each other during this three-day industry event. Technip, leader in a consortium with Acergy, has been awarded by Total a contract for the development of the Pazflor oil field, located offshore Angola in Block 17, at water depths reaching 1,200m. Technip's share of this $1.86b contract represents $1.16b. Technip's share of the contract covers: · the engineering, procurement, fabrication and installation of over 80km of production and water injection rigid flowlines(1), conventional flexible risers (2) and integration production bundle (IPB) risers, · the engineering, procurement and fabrication of over 60km of umbilicals (3). Technip's operating center in Paris (France) will execute this contract. The umbilicals will be manufactured at the umbilical plant of Angoflex, a company run in association with Sonangol E&P, in Lobito (Angola).
