Schilling Strengthens Management
Schilling Robotics hired two new project managers, Christopher Legg and Adrian DeGroot. Legg joins Schilling from Canyon Offshore Inc. where, as project manager, he directed offshore production and construction projects for a wide range of subsea engineering groups including Shell Offshore, BP Amoco, Kerr McGee, and others. His responsibilities included developing and testing specific tooling for offLegg shore subsea programs. DeGroot joins Schilling with a wealth of experience in deep-ocean ROV design and implementation from his backDeGroot ground in the film production industry. As project manager and design engineer for director James Cameron's Earthship Productions, DeGroot designed and built equipment for filming deepocean underwater documentaries. DeGroot was responsible for engineering on the ROVs seen in the 3D IMAX movies Ghosts of the Abyss and Aliens of the Deep, and Discovery Channel's Expedition: Bismarck. company, CodaOctopus Products Ltd. Having joined the company (originally formed as Coda Technologies) in Auld 1997 as a Sales Engineer, Stephen was instrumental in establishing the Coda range as the system of choice in the geophysical survey industry. Most recently he headed the sales division, with overall responsibility for the extensive range of Coda and Octopus product sales across territories including the UK, Europe and Asia. Technical Sales Manager based in the Aberdeen office. Cheesman strengthens the UK team by supporting its offshore oil and gas business. Previously at Weatherford International, he was involved in project managing subsea completions to wells using fiber optic gauges. He will manage key customer accounts; provide technical sales advice and logistics support to customers.
Phoenix Celebrates Anniversary
Phoenix International, Inc., (Phoenix), a marine services company specializing in underwater operations and engineering, celebrates its tenth year of business this month. The company began with a staff of eight, conducting underwater ship repairs for the US Navy's Supervisor of Salvage and Diving. Today, a team of more than 270 professionals serve a wide spectrum of customers throughout the ocean industry. Phoenix continues to perform waterborne ship repairs for the Navy (and others), and has augmented its services to include underwater inspections and surveys, search and recovery missions, marine construction support, submarine rescue operations, and entertainment production assistance. Recognition of the quality to which our employee's work was demonstrated by the election of Phoenix's IT Manager to the Federal 100 in 2005 for her on-scene development of a system that tracked and reported on the location and status of marine debris caused by Hurricanes Katrina

IXSEA Announces Appointments
To support its growing naval business in the UK, IXSEA Ltd. announced the relocation of its main office to Portsmouth, close to the Royal Navy dockyard, and the expansion of its sales team with the appointment of Nick Green as Sales Manager. Green, who has a marine business and navigation background, will assist in developing IXSEA's presence in the marine leisure industry in the UK Green as well as pioneering new markets for the company.
