Aker Kvaerner Opens in Houston
Aker Kvaerner opened its new North Sam Houston Parkway facility on April 25. The facility will include operational support of three main activities; drilling equipment, well intervention technology and subsea systems. It will be the primary center for assembly, testing and aftermarket activity for Aker Kvaerner's oil field operations in the Gulf of Mexico.
Cameron Receives $127m Contract
Cameron won a $127m contract to supply subsea systems for Petrobras of Brazil's offshore Plangas program. Cameron will provide 22 subsea Christmas trees, control systems and related equipment. Initial delivery and installation is set to begin in the second quarter of 2008, with additional deliveries of subsea trees and associated equipment to continue through 2009.
C- Surveyor III AUV Completes Noble Energy Project
C & C Technologies completed a survey for Noble Energy utilizing its new C-Surveyor III AUV. The CSurveyor III completed the 81 nautical mile survey in the Gulf of Mexico with water depths ranging from 4100 to 4700 ft. C & C's new 4500-m C-Surveyor III AUV includes a multibeam echosounder, chirp side scan sonar, chirp sub-bottom profiler and CTD system. The customized sub-bottom profiler on board is outfitted with narrow transmit and receive beams to permit significantly deeper seabed penetration. In addition to the sub-bottom profiler, a customized Dynamically Focused (DF) sidescan sonar system provides five times more resolution than traditional systems used on other AUVs.

Superior Offshore Takes Third ROV
Superior Offshore International has acquired its third Perry Slingsby Systems Triton XLS-150 HP Heavy-Work Class ROV. "We have experienced significant demand for our ROVs and adding a third ROV will allow for some scheduling flexibility with our project management team," said Hamish Thomsen, Superior Offshore International's ROV Division General Manager. Officially, Superior Offshore's third ROV acquisition will be known as the XLS 042 and is expected to be delivered in May 2007. The XLS 042 joins the XLS 027 and XLS 028, two other all Perry Slingsby Systems ROVs that are currently available for service.
