Working for Spectra Energy in 315 ft. water depth at Main Pass 282, the DPII Agnes Candies vessel, working with a 24 hr. crew on board, safely and efficiently performed Pipeline Remediation tasks for the Client. The Agnes Candies vessel boasts the following equipment: 40T Knuckle Boom Crane; 3 Man Bell; Surface Dive Station; Brand New, State-ofthe-art 1000fsw, 12 man Saturation System with Hyperbaric Rescue Chamber; Gas Mixing System; and a Diver Reclaim. The Agnes Candies can be adopted for a large spectrum of work ranging from Repair and Installation to Inspection and Plug and Abandonment. Other possible uses for the vessel include platform repairs; riser, anode, and hot tap installations; subsea tree and valve assistance; and platform and pipeline inspection. and will be equipped with two Caterpillar C18 engines powering twin fire pumps each rated at 5300 gallons per minute, with water mist capability built in. All engines on the vessel, including main propulsion, fire pumps, and generators are EPA Tier II compliant. With this multi-vessel order, Rigdon's GPAdesigned fleet has increased to 20 PSVs, including eight GPA 640s. The design of the DP2- and FFV1-certified GPA 654s, measuring 54 m in length, incorporates greater operating efficiency compared to similar sized vessels. This marks the second Z-Tech 6,300 hp harbor tug to be built at Orange Shipbuilding for Bay-Houston and the third Z-Tech to enter Bay-Houston's fleet. Delivery is scheduled for early February 2009. The vessel will be Orange Shipbuilding Hull H-394. The tug will be 98.5 ft. long, with a beam of 39.3 ft., and a hull depth of 16.4 ft. As with the first two Z-Techs BayHouston has ordered, the tug will be powered by two of Caterpillar's new 3516C high power engines, delivering 3,150 hp each. The vessel is designed to produce in excess of 86 tons of bollard pull. The Caterpillar engines will be mated to Schottel drives, the Model SRP-1520 driving 106 in. stainless steel propellers. These drives are rated at a combined 6,300 hp. Markey Machinery Company Inc. will provide the bow winch, a Model #DYSF 52 Escort Line Winch. The winch has an automatic render/recover mode and will be equipped with an application specific Markey tension meter. The winch will have a brake capacity of 500,000 lbs. Electrical power will be provided by two John Deere gensets, each rated at 125 kw.
